We had a great race weekend with CSRG at Sonoma Rcwy, with lots of good track time under sunny California skies. They ran a Practice/Practice/Qual 1/Qual 2/Race 1/Race 2/Race 3 format, so most came home with used up tires and a sore body!
The Sports Racer Challenge had ten entries with an even split between Classes. Unfortunately we saw a few DNF’s by the end of the weekend, but that’s vintage racing for you. CSRG ran the SRC in their combined Group 4&5, so we were out on track with Formula B’s and ’60s sports racers in a group that started out with 20+ cars. With a potluck bbq on Saturday night, the SRC handed out a few trophies and talked about upcoming events, and the desire to find more sports racers to come out and join us. If you know someone needing help getting an old car back out to the track, please let us know.
This weekend we welcomed newcomer John Mann to the series with his beautifully prepared Lola, and we welcomed back Lanie Scoggins in her WSR after not seeing her at the track for a while.
